SALES AND RETAIL MANAGER

General Marine Services is an energetic, customer focused company. We have been supporting the marine industry for over 25 years and are proud of our customer support.

Our company is going from strength to strength; with new premises, a busy workshop and superb new retail outlet. 

We are now actively looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual who will take ownership of the Sales Department.

Our ideal candidate will be friendly and professional, have strong attention to detail and excellent customer skills plus a proven track record to run a highly motivated sales team.

Working with a team of retail professionals and coordinating with our very busy marine service department, you will need the following:

Key skills and responsibilities

  • Maximising the customer base within the available market (Nationally & Internationally)
  • Optimising returns derived from the sales department
  • Improving operational efficiencies
  • Creating a strong dynamic industry leading sales team
  • Achieving accurate sales administration
  • Ensuring a safe working environment within the Sales Department
  • Operating within the constraints of the available funds.
  • Delegating responsibilities appropriate to staff capabilities

Management skills

  • Retail, OEM and Wholesale operations
    (Financial goals and outcomes, strategy, staff, purchasing, administration, sales)
  • Marketing of the company’s products and services, by way of signage, CRM, selected website improvements, selected marine trade shows, selected on-line marketing, selected social media, selected print advertising and press releases to appropriate media.
  • Ongoing development of a comprehensive sales department operation manual that integrates with company policies and employment contracts.  
  • Engage in quality staff management, team building and support of the same.
  • High level of customer service ensuring it is of the highest priority and an ongoing target of continued improvement.
  • Reporting to Director and the management team of all ongoing and forward looking growth/development ideas and issues as they arise, in a timely fashion.
